Release of Nepali Film ‘Kalli’ Postponed Due to Election Period

...

Kathmandu — The scheduled release of the Nepali film Kalli has been postponed. The film was originally set to hit theaters on February 13 (Falgun 1), but the production team has decided to defer the release considering the country’s current political situation.

According to the filmmakers, Nepal is entering a crucial and sensitive election period, during which national focus and state priorities are naturally directed toward politics and the democratic process. Respecting this national responsibility, the team stated that the decision was made with the belief of “Nation first, then art and entertainment.”

The production team has announced that a new release date will be revealed after the formation of a new government and once a stable post-election environment is established.

They further expressed confidence that this brief delay will help present the film in a more refined and grand manner. The team also extended heartfelt gratitude to audiences, film professionals, and media friends for their continuous love, support, and anticipation toward Kalli.
