Kathmandu-The Nepali film Sati Devi has been selected for the “Lift Off Filmmaker Session Volume 3” Award in the UK. The award ceremony, which will take place on April 7, will also feature a screening of the film. Recently, the film won the “Most Popular Feature Film Audience Choice Award” at the 8th Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) held in Kathmandu. The film is directed by Laxman Suvedi.
Satidevi, which won the Special Film Award at the National Film Awards distributed by the Nepal Film Development Board, was released in August. The film is now preparing for another screening. Directed by Laxman Suvedi, the film is based on a woman’s story.
The cast includes Malika Mahat, Harshika Wali, Manjila Baniya, Sandipbabu Lohani, Ramesh Budhathoki, Kuldeep Adhikari, Bhola Sapkota, Srijana Adhikari, Sujita Shivakoti, Sandesh Limbu, Manisha Sapkota, among others. The film’s director Suvedi is also the producer, writer, and lyricist, with Babu Shrestha handling the cinematography. The producer of the film is Shridevi Suvedi.
