Kathmandu: The filming of the feature film Bob Dai, starring Saugat Malla and Simran Pant in lead roles, has officially been completed on its 42nd day. Director Prabin Shrestha confirmed that the entire shoot was carried out within locations in Chandragiri and Kirtipur municipalities of Kathmandu.
According to director Shrestha, the production team has now moved into the post-production phase. Except for two songs, all scenes outlined in the script have been filmed. The remaining song sequences are scheduled to be shot a few weeks later.
Presented by Rotepink Entertainment in collaboration with Shriram Balaji Films, Bob Dai revolves around the story of a young man from Kirtipur. Actor Saugat Malla appears in the role of “Bob Dai.” The director explained that in the Newari language, “Dai” is pronounced as “Dai- डाई,” which inspired the film’s title. While the film falls under the comedy genre, Shrestha noted that it also explores multiple layers beyond humor.
Alongside Saugat Malla and Simran Pant, the film features an ensemble cast including Santosh Pant, Bishal Pahadi, Pramod Agrahari, Kameshwar Chaurasiya, Kushal Pokharel, Yaman Shrestha, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Geeta Adhikari, Bhintuna Joshi, Nitesh Tandukar, Manoj Maharjan, Kamal Devkota, Uttamraj Pandey, Rajin Maharjan, and child artist Agrim Pandit.
The story of Bob Dai is written by Manisha Gauchan and Prabin Shrestha. Dinesh Bahadur Raut serves as the associate director, while Tarkaraj Neupane is the chief assistant director. Cinematography is handled by Shyam Tamang and his team, and the film will be edited by director Prabin Shrestha himself.
Nripesh Rupakheti is the production head and casting director, with poster design by Royal Bhimsen. Makeup is done by Swastika Shrestha, choreography by Kiran Thapa and Srishti Maharjan, and action direction by Shankar Maharjan. The art direction is led by Ghanshyam Shrestha.
The film is produced by Rajesh Ghimire, Roshan Bhattarai, and Sunil Manandhar, with Rabindra Prajapati as the executive producer. The release date of Bob Dai has not yet been announced.
