Kathmandu — The second teaser of the upcoming Nepali film Laalima, scheduled to release on Falgun 29, has been unveiled on Sunday. The nearly one-minute teaser focuses on the character played by lead actress Roshani Karki.
Based on the experiences and struggles of around three thousand sex workers, the teaser features Roshani alongside actresses Sushma Niraula and Usha Rajak, and actor Jeevan Bhattarai. The teaser shows Sushma and Usha standing by Roshani during her difficult moments.
Actors Shishir Wangdel and Sabin Kattel also appear in the teaser.
One of the key highlights is a baby seen in Roshani’s arms, reflecting her character as a sex worker. The teaser opens with her struggling life in the city and concludes with her leaving the city with the infant, symbolising the emotional rise and fall of her character and hinting at the complex realities faced by thousands of women.
The film is written and directed by Roshan Miraj. Laalima is presented by Faith Aastha, with Reena Lama serving as the executive producer. Distribution rights have been acquired by National Cine Group Nepal.
