Kathmandu — The film Maijharo, set to release on Kartik 7 (24 October), has begun an extensive promotional campaign. The production team has launched a wide-reaching effort to publicize the movie, organizing a series of musical events in various eastern cities as part of their promotional drive.
At present, many e-rickshaws and auto rickshaws across eastern Nepal are decorated with Maijharo posters and banners, turning the streets into a moving showcase for the film. Everywhere you look, Maijharo flashes are hanging from vehicles.
The film’s director and producer, Wilson Bikram Rai who is also a singer and comedian is energetically promoting the movie to reach audiences nationwide. Through his own musical performances, he is entertaining crowds and adding a musical spark to the campaign. Joining him are “Rai is King” singer Rajesh Payal Rai, composer-singer Anmol Gurung, and the film’s lead actors, all delivering dynamic performances.
On Thursday, a large promotional concert was held in Dharan, drawing thousands of local attendees. Today, the team led by director Wilson Bikram Rai is performing a musical show in his home district, with the event taking place on Asoj 25 at Mukti Chowk, Birtamod.
The production team has organized similar musical programs in Birtamod and Damak of Jhapa, Belbari of Morang, and Itahari and Dharan of Sunsari. Speaking about the campaign, Rai said,“We are working extensively to promote Maijharo. The goal of these events is not only to entertain audiences but also to inform them about the film’s upcoming release in theaters. It’s a new and creative promotional approach.”
Earlier, the film’s posters, two songs, and teaser had already won the hearts of audiences. However, Rai felt that wasn’t enough, so he decided to take the promotion further through live musical tours. This film marks his directorial debut, and he is determined to leave no stone unturned in promotion.
Written and produced by Wilson Bikram Rai himself, Maijharo tells an original Nepali love story. The film stars Dhiraj Magar, Miruna Magar, Diya Pun, Buddhi Tamang, Sunil Thapa, Pushkar Gurung, Abhayraj Baral, Mautse Gurung, Kavita Ale, Rajni Gurung, Prem Subba, Uday Subba, Anil Subba, Bhupendra Lingden, and Bishal Limbu, among others.
Produced under the Takme Production banner, the film’s songs are composed by Anmol Gurung and Torempahang Rai, with vocals by Rajesh Payal Rai, Jhuma Limbu, Melina Rai, and Asmita Adhikari, among others. The film is shot by cinematographer Saurav Lama, distributed by RR Films, and its digital rights are owned by OSR.
