Kathmandu: The teaser of the upcoming Nepali film “Ek Muthi Badal: My Share of Sky” has been released on the occasion of actress Aanchal Sharma’s birthday. The teaser, unveiled on Thursday, revolves around a poem titled “Pompoi ko Phool”, which is narrated by Aanchal herself.
Blending poetry with visuals, the teaser introduces the film’s main cast. The production team described the release as a special birthday gift for the lead actress.
The poem featured in the teaser is written by the film’s writer and director Sahara Sharma and is based on her childhood memories. According to Sahara, she used to hear similar verses from her grandmother, which she had nearly forgotten. However, during the editing phase of the film, the poem resurfaced in her memory and became an integral part of the project.
Speaking about the film, Aanchal Sharma said the project holds a special place in her heart. She shared that portraying a character so close to her own life is deeply fulfilling. “In other films, I play someone else, but in this film, the ‘Maili’ character is truly me. Bringing my own life to the screen is an indescribable satisfaction,” she said.
Alongside Aanchal, the film features performances by Nisha Sharma, Usha Rajak, Bhima Mainali, Asmita Gautam, Shekhar Chapagain, Manish Niraula, Sahayog Adhikari, Gaurav Bista, and Abiral Pratap Adhikari.
The film is produced by Abhimanyu Dixit, with Nikun Shrestha serving as executive producer. The production team also includes German producer Sara Fazilat along with Samipya Raj Timalsena and Anup Poudel.
Cinematography is handled by Linh Dan Nguyen Phan, while production design is by Yashaswi Sabharwal and editing by Gaurav Mallik. The film’s art direction is led by Agrani Thakuri Jha, with costume design by Janaki Kadayat and makeup by Kirti Joshi.
Marna James serves as the chief assistant director, supported by Sharmila Ale and Mira Khadka.
Notably, the film is led predominantly by women across various departments. It is jointly produced by Gauthali Entertainment and Man Production, and will be distributed in Nepal by RR Films.
