Kathmandu – The teaser of the Nepali science fiction film “Eklo” has been released. The one-minute-and-five-second teaser, unveiled through OSR Digital’s official YouTube channel, gives a glimpse of an impressive cinematic experience. The production team appears confident that this film—made with a storyline different from typical Nepali movies—will offer audiences a unique and refreshing experience. The movie is scheduled to be released on Poush 17 (January 1), coinciding with the English New Year.
Eklo has already marked its international presence by being showcased at a stall during the world-renowned Cannes Film Festival, where it gained significant attention and praise afterward.
The film is directed by Pradeep Shahi, who has previously directed two films. Having lived in the United Kingdom for many years, Shahi has developed Eklo with Hollywood-level technology and presentation standards. His previous directorial works, Gurkha: Beneath the Bravery and Antim Sanskar, have already been released on Amazon Prime.
The movie features performances by Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Benisha Hamal, Dinesh DC, Kavita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, Avan Raj Upreti, Trichu Rai, Krishna Bhakta Maharjan, Bikash Adhikari, Diggaj Khatri, Binod Subedi (Kshitiz), and Shrishes Shrestha, along with child actors Jemin Shrestha and Syon Savyk Singh. The film also stars British actor Jamie Bacon in a notable role.
The movie is funded by the NRN (Non-Resident Nepali) Group, with Binod Subedi “Kshitiz” serving as the executive producer. Actor Pradeep Khadka has also invested in the project. The group aims to promote Nepali art and cinema on an international scale and expand the global market for Nepali films.
Cinematography for the film is done by Babu Shrestha, with Raju Tamang handling stunt direction, Raju Painter designing the sets, Santosh Lama serving as art director, and Dron Prasad Paudel “Theuke” overseeing production design.
Eklo is regarded as a significant effort in Nepali cinema to present a high-quality, science fiction-based story. The film will be distributed by Apple Entertainment, FD Company, and Rich Entertainment.
