Kathmandu- Traditional village vocabulary rarely surfaces in today’s conversations, especially in urban areas where many such words are on the verge of disappearing. The younger generation, in particular, is gradually losing touch with authentic Nepali dialects. Amid this shift, some films and songs are playing an important role in preserving these native expressions. In this context, the newly released song ‘Khurpeto Aansi’ has made a notable attempt to revive and promote traditional Nepali words.

The music video presents the meaning of the song in a simple and relatable way for viewers. Sung by Babu Kaushal and Shantishree Pariyar, the song features lyrics and composition by Resham Nirdosh, who has also directed the video. The story shows two young men—R.K. Pariyar and Bikram Pariyar—following actresses Sneha Joshi and Priyanka Nepali while carrying khurpeto aansi, a traditional tool referenced in the song.

The choreography is done by Rajaram Simkhada, with cinematography by Mahesh Mahara and editing by Binod Bam.

Speaking about the video, actress Sneha Joshi said she felt fortunate to work on a project that highlights Nepal’s authentic cultural essence.
“I have worked in many music videos, but working in such a typical and original Nepali song brings a different kind of joy. This song not only entertains but also teaches the new generation about traditional words,” Joshi told Artist Khabar. “Songs like this are always my first preference.”

Sneha Joshi, who is also active in Nepali cinema, has acted in five films and appeared in around 20 music videos so far.
