Kathmandu — As U.S. President Donald Trump intensifies trade disputes with countries around the world, he has announced plans to impose a 100 percent tariff on films produced overseas. Claiming that the American film industry is “rapidly heading toward death,” Trump said he is preparing to authorize the U.S. Department of Commerce and trade representatives to begin the process of implementing such tariffs.
Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has imposed tariffs on countries across the globe. He argues that the tariffs will support American producers and protect jobs. However, as a result, the global economy has been thrown into uncertainty, and the prices of goods worldwide are expected to rise.
