Kathmandu — Actress Upasana Singh Thakuri has been signed as the lead in the upcoming film Sumnima, directed by Milan Chams. The film, which is based on a love story, will be produced in both Nepali and English languages. With Upasana on board, auditions have now been announced to find her male co-star. It has been stated that individuals between the ages of 20 and 26 currently residing in the UK are eligible to participate in the auditions.

Director Chams mentioned that the film will be made with a universal storyline targeting the international market. “Since the story is universal, the film will also be aimed at foreign audiences,” Chams said.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting in Nepal and the UK starting in July. It will be produced under the joint banner of Chams Entertainment and Gorkha Films, marking Chams’ 11th directorial project. The story and screenplay will be written by Rajiv Thapa.

Chams’ previous biopic film Anjila has completed its 51st successful day in theaters. Following the success of Anjila, Chams now faces the challenge of making his next project even better. Confident in the strength of the story and the team, Chams believes that Sumnima will be an outstanding film. He added that details regarding other technical crew members and the full team will be shared later.
