Kathmandu: The Nepali feature film ‘Zero Degree’, produced under the Meghauli Films banner, is officially set for a nationwide release during Tihar 2083 (2026). Amid recent speculation that the release date might be changed, the production team has confirmed that the film will arrive in cinemas as originally planned.

Director Akash Baral said the release schedule was not influenced by competition or market pressure but was determined after careful consideration of the film’s story, audience appeal, distribution strategy, promotional plans, and overall production timeline.

“We announced the release only after reviewing the first cut following the completion of filming and gaining full confidence in the project. Tihar is the perfect occasion for families to enjoy a film together, and we are excited to meet audiences during the festive season,” Baral said.

Executive producer Moti Karki also dismissed rumors of a possible postponement, stating that all promotional, distribution, and marketing activities are moving ahead according to the original schedule.

Described as a social, family-oriented, emotional, and comedy-drama, Zero Degree aims to entertain audiences of all age groups. Rather than focusing on competition with domestic or international releases, the filmmakers say their goal is to win viewers over through its story, characters, and presentation.

The film marks the second collaboration between directing duo Sajan Kafle and Akash Baral after Behuli From Meghauli. The cast features Bijay Baral, Sanisha Bhattarai, Rajan Bhusal, Basundhara Bhusal, Ramesh Budhathoki, Prakash Ghimire, Lokendra Lekhak, Subash Gajurel, Rambabu Regmi, Subarna Thapa, Sanjog Rasaili, Prabesh Mahatara Kshetri, Sharda Silwal, and Sabina Thapa Kshetri.

Written, directed, and produced by Sajan Kafle and Akash Baral, the film has cinematography by Nishal Poudel, editing by Chanas Pun Magar, music by Ankit Babu Adhikari, lyrics by Yuvraj Kafle, background score by Manaswi Malal, and sound design and mixing by Shailesh Shrestha.

The makers believe Zero Degree will offer audiences a refreshing family entertainment experience when it hits theatres during the Tihar festival.
