...

Kathmandu – Popular Nepali model Sushant Dhakal has surprised audiences with a completely different look and character in the newly released song video “Dhokha.” Known for his romantic image and stylish appearance in music videos, Sushant appears in a darker and more intense avatar this time, drawing attention from viewers and the music industry alike.

The music video of “Dhokha,” sung by Pratap Das, has quickly become a topic of discussion after its release. Centered around betrayal in love and the revenge that follows, the video presents an emotional and cinematic storyline that stands out from typical romantic music videos. Alongside Sushant, model Smarika Dhakal also delivers a striking performance, adding depth to the narrative through a double role.

One of the biggest talking points of the video is Sushant’s physical transformation. Usually seen as slim and fit in his previous projects, the model gained weight specifically for this role in order to make the character look more believable. His villainous appearance and intense expressions have left many fans surprised, as it marks a major shift from the charming romantic roles he is generally associated with.

Speaking about the project, Sushant shared that he wanted to experiment with something different rather than repeating similar roles. According to him, “Dhokha” gave him an opportunity to challenge himself as an actor and step out of his comfort zone. His transformation is now being appreciated as a sign of growing maturity and versatility in his career.

Director Keshavraj Bhatt said he worked harder on this project compared to many of his previous videos. He explained that the storyline demanded strong emotions, layered characters, and a suspenseful presentation. To make the concept more engaging, Smarika was portrayed in a double role, which adds twists and emotional confusion to the story.

Unlike many music videos that focus mainly on glamour and romance, “Dhokha” attempts to blend storytelling with cinematic visuals. The emotional conflict, betrayal, and revenge elements make the video feel closer to a short film than a conventional song video. Viewers on social media have particularly praised the acting chemistry between Sushant and Smarika, along with the darker tone of the narrative.

Industry observers also see “Dhokha” as an example of how Nepali music videos are gradually evolving. In recent years, audiences have started expecting stronger storytelling, character development, and more experimental concepts instead of repetitive romantic themes. Sushant’s transformation for the role is being viewed as part of this changing trend, where models and actors are now willing to undergo physical and emotional changes for impactful performances.

Sushant Dhakal has already acted in more than four dozen music videos, including popular songs like “Nidharai Ma Tiki,” “Dilmaya,” “Timro Maya,” and “Ek Choti Ta Bolideu.” However, many believe “Dhokha” could become one of the most memorable projects of his career because of the risk he took with the character.

The model has also recently been associated with projects that carry Bollywood-style presentation. After appearing in the song “Tujme Khoya Tujme Paya,” Sushant reportedly became even more motivated to explore diverse and challenging roles. He has also acted in a song sung by Bollywood singer Sonu Mishra, whose video was premiered in Nepal.

The lyrics of “Dhokha” are written by Bishnu Bhandari, while the music is composed by popular musician Saroj Pokharel. The song has been arranged, mixed, and mastered by Dibesh Rai, with choreography by Dinesh Parajuli.

Released through the official YouTube channel of Saroj Pokharel, the video is steadily gaining attention online. With its emotional storyline, suspense-filled presentation, and Sushant Dhakal’s unexpected transformation, “Dhokha” is emerging as one of the most talked-about Nepali music videos of recent times.
