Kathmandu: Veteran Nepali actor Bishnu Sapkota, widely recognized for his iconic character Harke Haldar, is making his return to television through the comedy show Comedy Baaz.
After staying away from television entertainment programs in recent years, Sapkota is set to appear regularly on the Image Television show as a featured performer. Airing every Sunday at 8:00 PM, Comedy Baaz will now feature the actor delivering weekly comedy performances in his signature Harke Haldar avatar.
His first appearance will be in the upcoming episode, which will also feature Sushil Nepal, Pratap Das, CD Bijay Adhikari, and Shyam Rana as special guests.
According to Sundar Khanal, the producer, director, and host of Comedy Baaz, the decision to bring back Harke Haldar was made in response to the character’s enduring popularity among audiences.

“Harke Haldar is one of the most loved comedy characters in Nepal. That’s why we invited Bishnu Sapkota to join Comedy Baaz. We believe viewers will thoroughly enjoy his performances,” Khanal said.
Bishnu Sapkota portrayed Harke Haldar for many years in the hit television serial of the same name. Although he left the series around four years ago, the serial has continued with its broadcast.
Khanal also revealed that Comedy Baaz has introduced several changes to its format. The competitive battle-based structure featured in previous episodes has been removed, with the show now focusing more on pure comedy and additional entertainment segments.
The program is hosted by Sundar Khanal and Aarti Thapa. Bikash Dhamala serves as the assistant director, while the script is written by Sundar Khanal and Sandesh Devkota. The show is filmed by Amrit Sunuwar and his production team.
