Kathmandu. The official trailer of the highly anticipated Nepali film ‘Jhinge Daaun 2’ has been released. The film is set to hit cinemas nationwide on Ashoj 2, with the trailer offering glimpses of family conflicts, sibling rivalry, the relationship between sisters-in-law, a mother’s unconditional love, and the search for a missing mother.
The trailer revolves around the conflicts and emotional struggles within a family. Along with the clashes between brothers and between a jethani (elder brother’s wife) and dewrani (younger brother’s wife), it also highlights the deep bond between parents and children. The mystery surrounding the search for a mother adds another layer of suspense to the story.
The trailer has further increased anticipation among audiences who are already familiar with the first installment of the film. The combination of family drama, emotion and conflict suggests that ‘Jhinge Daaun 2’ could offer another engaging cinematic experience.
Produced under the banners of Kapangadhi Cinema Pvt. Ltd. and Film Crew Nepal Pvt. Ltd., the film is directed by Gyanendra Deuja. Sulabh Pratik Deuja and Samikshya Deuja are the producers, while Roshani Adhikari Deuja and Neetu Shrestha Deuja serve as co-producers.
The film features Keki Adhikari, Aanchal Sharma, Mahesh Tripathi, Kushal Bista, Aaryan Sigdel, Hiunwala Gautam, Saroj Khanal, Basundhara Bhusal, Chaityadevi Singh, Sangam Bhandari, Vijay Deuja, Anshu Maharjan, Abhay Baral, Uttam KC and Asha Bhusal, among others.
The screenplay and dialogues are written by Parichhed Sen, with writing by Govindu Phuyal and Shishir Chalise. Bishnu Ghimire ‘Kalpit’ is the cinematographer, while Mitra D. Gurung handles editing. Arjun Pokharel has composed the music and Roshan Shrestha has handled the action choreography.
The film had already generated buzz with its teaser. Its song ‘Jethani vs Dewrani’, released as a Teej battle song, has gained significant popularity on YouTube and TikTok, crossing 3.7 million views in a short period.
Meanwhile, the first installment of ‘Jhinge Daaun’ has crossed 8 million views on YouTube. The strong response to the first film and the popularity of its promotional content have further raised expectations for the sequel.
