Keki Adhikari Joins Pushpa Khadka in ‘Maharajdhiraj’

Kathmandu: Actress Keki Adhikari has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Nepali film Maharajdhiraj, where she will be seen portraying the role of a queen. Actor Pushpa Khadka had already been finalized earlier to play the titular role of the king.

Presented by Biraj Bista, the film continues to build a strong lineup. Keki’s inclusion comes just days after she announced her own film Station, further adding momentum to her busy schedule.

The film had earlier sparked curiosity over who would portray the royal character, which was eventually revealed with Pushpa Khadka’s casting and poster release. Notably, Khadka marked his commitment to the project by signing with a blood thumbprint.

The poster of Maharajdhiraj hints at a thriller or period drama theme. Directed by Parichhed Sen, the film is set to go on floors in the second week of Baisakh.

The ensemble cast includes prominent names such as Neer Shah, Aryan Sigdel, Ramesh Upreti, Barsha Raut, Usha Rajak, Hiu Bala Gautam, Jay Kishan Basnet, Shishir Bhandari, Gajit Bista, and Asha Poudel, among others.

Described as a dream project by director Sen, Maharajadhiraj will feature around 80 actors, blending both veteran and new-generation performers. Producers of the film are Ravi Khadka, Shivaraj Poudel, and Topendra Bista.

The shooting will begin from Sri Lanka Island in Sunsari, followed by schedules in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Kirtipur, capturing various historical and scenic locations. The film’s cinematography will be handled by Nabaraj Thapa.

Produced under the banner of Chhatreshwor Management Pvt. Ltd., the film is written by the director himself. The makers are targeting a nationwide release during the Phulpati festival of Dashain.
