Live Bands and Thousands of Fans Turn ‘Kumari’ Trailer Release into Mega Concert Event

Kathmandu — The much-anticipated trailer of the Nepali romantic drama Kumari, set to release on Magh 23, was unveiled in a grand open-air event at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. With an estimated crowd of over 10,000 audiences, the live trailer launch under the open sky marked a rare and historic moment in the history of Nepali cinema.

Director Dinesh Raut described the occasion as a dream come true, expressing confidence that the overwhelming enthusiasm seen at the event would translate into strong audience turnout in theaters. Producer Mahendra Adhikari said the immense love shown by the audience has further strengthened his commitment to Nepali cinema.

The event featured special musical performances by playback singer Kehar Singh Limbu and his band Kehar and the Lunga, along with popular bands Istrij and Trija Pradhan and the Tukucha, turning the trailer launch into a vibrant fusion of cinema promotion and live concert.

Lead actors Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari, both making their debut through Kumari, shared the stage with thousands of fans and expressed heartfelt joy at the warm reception. The trailer offers a glimpse into an emotional and intense love story, weaving together romance, family relationships, and psychological conflict. Abhishek’s character appears as a sensitive young man trapped by circumstances, while Aakriti portrays a strong-willed woman symbolizing self-respect, silent rebellion, and emotional courage.

Produced under the banner of Vinish Entertainment and written by Bikash Subedi, Kumari also stars Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, Aakanksha Karki, Madhu Khadka, Sanam Shrestha, Saku Shah, Saroj Lamichhane, and Manasha Sharma. Cinematography is by Susan Prajapati, editing by Shahil Khan, color grading by Suprim Parajuli, and sound design by Uttam Neupane.

Following the success of previously released songs such as Doko Bunne, Kata Chhau Mero Phool, and Timi Bina, the trailer has further heightened audience expectations and has already entered YouTube’s trending list. With all eyes now on its theatrical release, Kumari is set to hit cinemas on Magh 23.
