Kathmandu. Renowned folk-rock band Nepathya has departed for Japan on Monday for its new international tour. Returning to Japanese stages after two years, the band will perform a series of concerts in three cities Nagoya, Tokyo, and Osaka.
The tour will kick off on November 13 at the Nagoya Lives hall, marking Nepathya’s first ever performance in the city. The second concert will take place on November 18 at the world-famous Tokyo Dome City Hall, where the band will perform for the second time after seven years. The tour will conclude on November 24 in Osaka at Zepp Osaka Bayside.
This year’s Japan tour is being organized by the group Bhizonia. According to the group’s head, Subash Lamichhane, preparations are in their final phase, and ticket sales are progressing rapidly. “We are working with full dedication to make the concerts grand and memorable,” he said.
Over its three-decade-long musical journey, Nepathya has built a special bond with Japan. Lead vocalist Amrit Gurung recalls both sweet and bitter memories connected to the country, saying, “Japan is a meaningful chapter in our musical journey, filled with emotional moments we will never forget.”
During their 2015 visit, Japan’s leading television network NHK had aired a special feature introducing Nepal and Nepathya to Japanese audiences, further enhancing the band’s recognition and popularity there.
This time, the touring team includes six performing artists along with eight management and technical crew members. On stage, Amrit Gurung will be accompanied by Dhruva Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Neeraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal, and Dineshraj Regmi on keyboards.
Organizers have announced that fans can purchase tickets for the Japan concerts through the band’s official website.
