Pashupati Sharma Signs Film Deal, Set to Make Acting Debut as Lead in New Movie

Kathmandu: Popular Nepali folk singer Pashupati Sharma is set to make his acting debut in a feature film. Director Amardeep Sapkota has signed Sharma as the lead actor for his upcoming movie. Sapkota is known for directing the film Karkhana.

The film, which will be made in the comedy genre, has already been titled, although the name has not yet been publicly disclosed. According to information obtained by Artist Khabar, the movie will feature three lead actors, with the story revolving around all three characters.

Sharma revealed that he was initially hesitant to enter the film industry. However, after continuous efforts and encouragement from the production team, he agreed to take on the role.

“I have always been immersed in music, and cinema is a completely new field for me. I was unsure whether I should do it or not, but the production team gave me confidence, which motivated me to accept the project,” Sharma told Artist Khabar. “I will put in my full effort and dedication.”

The film will be produced under the banner of Raghuji Films. The producer is Raghunath Sapkota.

According to producer Sapkota, additional cast members will be finalized and announced in the coming weeks, while preparations are underway to begin filming in August.

Although Sharma has previously lent his voice to several films as a singer, this will mark his first appearance as an actor on the big screen. The opportunity has made him particularly excited about the project.

One of the most celebrated names in Nepal’s folk and dohori music scene, Sharma currently serves as the Senior Vice President of the National Folk and Dohori Song Academy Nepal. He is also preparing to contest for the position of president in the organization’s upcoming election.
