Muhurat ceremony of ‘Karki Saila’

Kathmandu – The upcoming film ‘Karki Saila’ has officially begun production with a muhurat ceremony (auspicious inauguration). On Monday, the script worship and muhurat were conducted at Mahadevsthan, Koteshwor. The film officially kicked off with the muhurat shot featuring lead actors Jitu Nepal and Barsha Siwakoti.

During the ceremony, Janakdeep Parajuli called the action, producer Sushil Pokharel clapped the clapperboard, and Dambar Bahadur Rai switched on the camera. Additionally, producer-actor Ugrasan Dhungana performed the coconut-breaking ritual as part of the camera worship ceremony.

The film is being produced under the banner of Karna Bahadur Films Pvt. Ltd. and will be directed by Rajendra Basnet. The presenter of the film is Krishna Bhagat Chamling, and it is being produced by Bal Kumar Rai. The film’s action direction is by Raju Kiranti, music by Babul Giri, choreography by Kamal Rai, and lyrics and chief assistant direction by Jeevan Nath Gautam, with the screenplay and dialogues written by Ajit Lamichhane.

Apart from Barsha and Jitu, the cast also includes Geeta Adhikari, Mansi Sharma, Shyam Magar, and Manil Tamang. The film will portray the story of rural life. Director Basnet mentioned that the film will depict the life of common people, with the central character being a porter (carrier).

Filming is scheduled to begin on Baisakh 20 (early May) in various locations of Dhankuta district. The production team also mentioned that the selection process for additional cast members is currently underway.
