Kathmandu – The sequel to the blockbuster film Jaari, titled Jaari 2, directed by poet-turned-filmmaker Upendra Subba, has unveiled three new posters along with the announcement of its release date. According to the posters, the film is set to release on Asoj 3 (September 19, 2025).
Of the three posters released today, the first features all the main cast members of the film, while the other two focus solely on the lead actors Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar. Both of them appear joyful in these posters one shows Dayahang cheerfully playing the traditional Chyabrung drum, and the other captures Miruna smiling brightly in a traditional Limbu outfit.
In another poster, both Dayahang and Miruna are seen posing happily for the camera. The film, titled “Jaari 2: Song of Chyabrung”, continues the creative direction of Upendra Subba, who first made his mark as a poet and writer before becoming a director. In the main poster, alongside Dayahang and Miruna, actors Buddhi Tamang and Bijay Baral are also featured. It also shows a young girl and Miruna leading the frame, while Dayahang follows behind with a stick in hand and porters carrying loads in the background.
All three posters highlight the Limbu community and its cultural centerpiece—the Chyabrung drum, suggesting that the film will revolve around a story rooted in this tradition. The visuals imply that audiences can expect a rich and compelling narrative.
Produced under the Bansuri Films and Kabaddi Films banners, the film is backed by successful director and producer Rambabu Gurung. Along with Dayahang, Miruna, Bijay, and Buddhi, the cast includes Richa Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, Manahang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai, and Sirjana Ninglekhu.
The first Jaari film was one of 2080 BS’s biggest blockbusters, grossing over NPR 170 million at the Nepali box office. Given its prior success, Jaari 2 has been highly anticipated ever since it was announced, with strong expectations that it will match or surpass the original’s commercial performance.
