Kathmandu – The first-look poster of the film Paran, written and directed by Deepak Prasad Acharya (Kaku), has been officially released. Along with the unveiling of the first look on Thursday, it was also formally announced that the film will be released on Kartik 14 (October 30, 2025).
The poster features lead actors Mahesh Tripathi and Anjana Baraili. The two are seen in an embrace, with sindoor (vermilion) on Anjana’s forehead, indicating that they might be portraying a married couple — although the production team has not confirmed this. In the poster, Mahesh appears serious, while Anjana leans her head gently on his chest with a calm and soft expression. The seriousness in Mahesh’s eyes suggests that their relationship might face some emotional turmoil or challenges.
The film carries the tagline “Saasle Haina, Saathle Chalne” (translated as “Not by breath, but by companionship”), which hints at the central theme or message of the story — emphasizing the importance of emotional connection and togetherness over mere physical existence.
Paran is produced by Bioscope Cinema Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture of Nepal’s prestigious business groups Golchha Group and Prisma Group. According to Bioscope’s managing director Ranjit Acharya, Paran is the first project being produced under the solo banner of Bioscope Cinema.
Veteran actor Neer Shah plays a major role in the film. Alongside Mahesh and Anjana, the film also stars Madan Krishna Shrestha, Pooja Chand, Keki Adhikari, Praveen Khatiwada, Buddhi Tamang, Yaseli Yonghang, Babindra Rai, Pushparaj Ojha, Seema Kafle, Daman Rupakheti, Yaman Shrestha, Subrat Raj Acharya, Suresh Thapa, Binod Rai, and child actor Aryadeep Acharya, among others.
The screenplay and dialogues are written by Yam Thapa, based on the original story by director Deepak Acharya. Speaking about the release of the first look, Acharya said that the promotional campaign for the film has officially begun. He noted, “Until now, our full focus was on making the film as good as possible. The post-production work is nearly complete. Now, we’ll intensify the promotional efforts.”
The film features music by Rhythm Kandel, with songs performed by Pramod Kharel, Pushpan Pradhan, Rachana Rimal, and others. The cinematography is handled by Shivaram Shrestha, and the film is edited by Mitra D. Gurung.
Paran is set to be released in cinemas across Nepal from Kartik 14 (October 30, 2025), right after the Dashain and Tihar festivals.
