Kathmandu – A new film titled Lajjawati is set to be produced. The film will be directed by Raj Bahadur Sane. On the occasion of Ghatasthapana, the first day of the Dashain festival, the film’s auspicious inauguration (Muhurat) and shooting began today (Monday) at the Pashupatinath temple premises.

The Muhurat shot was directed by writer Pradeep Bhardwaj. Lead actors Mukun Bhusal, Shreekrishna Niroula, Menuka Maji, and Januka Bishwakarma participated in the inaugural scene. After the Muhurat shot, producer of Sitamol, Bikash Raj Joshi, broke a coconut as part of the ritual. The shooting, which started at Pashupati Aryaghat, is scheduled to continue for 30 days, according to director Sane.

The film is being produced under the banner of Aaha Films, with Saurabh Wali as the presenter. The producers are Kamal Prasad Sharma and Sandeep Rokaya. Deepak Bhandari is the executive producer, and Bhimraj Rokaya is the co-producer. The cinematography will be handled by Divya Raj Subedi, assisted by Praveen Subedi.

Vishal Baral is the film’s chief assistant director, and Ravi KC is the makeup artist.

The film, which will be shot around Kathmandu and nearby areas, will feature performances by Mukun, Shreekrishna, Menuka, and Januka, along with actors like Maotse Gurung, Sushil Pokharel, Hiyunwala Gautam, Sapana Shrestha, Priya Rijal, Binod Shrestha, Keshav Rijal, and Ramhari Khadka.

According to the production team, the release date of the film will be announced only after the post-production work is fully completed.
