Kathmandu — The first video of Ashok Darji was filmed by Bhagya Nyaupane. That very video changed Ashok’s destiny. Before that video was released, Ashok used to sit on the roadside or ride public buses singing songs, collecting small amounts of money. But after his first video went viral, he received love and support from everyone. He also found a guardian in singer Tank Budhathoki.
Tank Budhathoki treated Ashok like his own son. Once a boy who sang on the streets with an uncertain future, Ashok now studies at a good school and continues to develop his singing talent. That same Ashok, who once sang on the sidewalks, has now become a movie hero.
His debut film “Man Binako Dhan” is set to release on Kartik 21 (around early November). Currently studying in grade 9, Ashok dreams of opening a children’s shelter and a hospital one day. Ashok says, “If I can do that, my dream will come true.”
