Kathmandu- The shooting of the film ‘Pension Patta’, directed by actor Maotse Gurung, has officially begun with a traditional auspicious ceremony. The filming started in Tangting village, Kaski district, and the production team has stated that the movie will be shot there for 35 days, utilizing the beautiful local locations.
Maotse Gurung, known as the ‘Godfather’ of Gurung cinema, is also investing in the film. The cast includes Dayahang Rai, Sunil Thapa, Pashupati Rai, Gaumaya Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Raj Thapa Kaucha, Luniva Tuladhar, Bishwas Gurung, Maya Gurung, Yashili Rai, and several other artists. Although the title of the film might suggest the story of a former Gurkha soldier, the director and producer Gurung explains that it will actually depict how a greedy young man becomes generous.
The story of the film, produced under the Maotse Gurung Films banner, is also written by director Maotse Gurung. Investors include Min Konme Gurung (Sikkim), Bhoj Bahadur Gurung (UK), and Sapana Gurung, while DB Gurung serves as the production manager. Sushan Prajapati is the cinematographer, and the casting director is Suraj Thamu. The music is composed by Jhuma Limbu, Manoj Thapa Magar, and Shiv Baraily.
Maotse Gurung’s directorial debut, ‘Dayarani’, was a hit at the box office. As a preferred choice for character roles, he has recently become active in writing and directing as well. Previously, he directed films in the Gurung language, and he continues to contribute as an actor, director, and producer.
