Kathmandu- The film ‘PR’, which was released on Mangsir 26 (December 11, 2024), will now be available on the OTT digital platform ‘MSM Video’. On Thursday, a formal agreement was signed between the film’s director Shobhit Basnet and representatives of MSM Video.
According to Director Basnet, the film will start streaming on the OTT platform from Poush 10 (December 25, 2024). The director stated that this digital release is aimed at viewers who could not watch the film in theaters.
“Not all places have cinema halls. Some people complained that they couldn’t watch the film because there was no theater nearby,” said Director Basnet. “Accordingly, we decided to release the film through the digital platform MSM Video.”
Recently, viewership on the digital platform ‘MSM Video’ has been increasing, and many Nepali films have already been released on this platform.
The film was highly appreciated during its premiere and theater screenings. During the premiere, Dinesh DC (Chairperson of the Film Development Board), successful director Deepashree Nirola, Gauri Mall, Regina Upreti, Karishma KC, Deepak Acharya Kaku, Rekha Thapa, Jaykishan Basnet, Sabin Shrestha, Nirmal Sharma, Salinman Baniya, Prabhat Pal, and singer Devika Bandana praised the film.
The story of ‘PR’ revolves around the struggles of young Nepalis who go to Australia to obtain permanent residency (PR). Most of the film was shot in Australia, and Director Shobhit Basnet stated that the film also shows the perspective of parents and relatives in Nepal, making them reflect on the lives of their children living abroad.
Produced under the banner of Salone Salina Films, the film features R.A. Suraj Paudel, Vinita Karki, Rajan Kunwar, Pooja Chaudhary, Ashma Adhikari Mastani, Bimala Khatri, Ganesh Budhathoki, Max Babu, and Krishna Thapa Naveen Ghayal in lead roles. Special appearances include Neer Shah, Gauri Mall, Ravindra Khadka, Uttam KC Nepal, and Dikpal Karki.
The presentation of the film is by Ranjit Sah and Santosh Tiwari, while it is produced by Laxman Sapkota and Pradeep Dahal. Editing was done by Bande Prasad, and the screenplay is by Ganesh Budhathoki. Cinematography is by Saurabh Sayami and Saurabh Lama, and the film is distributed by RR Films.
