Kathmandu-The action-packed teaser of the film “Pratibairam,” directed by Roshan Das, has been released. The 1 minute and 29 second long teaser was unveiled at a special event organized in the capital, Kathmandu. Based on social and political issues centered on the Madhesh region, the teaser gives a glimpse of a full-on action film focusing on crime in Madhesh. It also attempts to portray issues such as dowry practices and the bond between brother and sister. These elements have further heightened anticipation for the film.
Lead actor Samrat Das is seen in a powerful avatar. According to director Roshan Das, although Pratibairam marks Samrat Das’s debut film, this role is expected to be one of the most significant and memorable of his career.
The film features performances by Samrat Das, Supragya Sharma, Birendra Kushwaha, Alisha Bastola, Ronny Yadav, Biki Shah, Navin Shrestha, Geeta Shree, Ashish DK, Pradeep Dhakal, Narayan B.K., Bike Shah, Ramesh Budhathoki, among others.
The film has Santosh Mall, Agni Subedi, Dhiraj Raut, and Srijana Bhujel as co-directors. Produced by Rage Entertainment in collaboration with King YT, the film’s production manager is Kamal Sunar, while line production is handled by Pankaj Mahato. The editing has been done by Kabir Wagle.
Director Roshan Das stated that the film was made with the aim of realistically presenting the true stories, beauty, and socio-political issues of Madhesh. He added that the film seeks to bring the real life and sensitivities of Madhesh to the audience. The story of the film is by Das himself, while the screenplay has been written by Yubaraj Bhattarai.
According to the production team, Pratibairam is scheduled for release in Jestha 2083 (May/June 2026). The film has been made in Nepali, Hindi, Maithili, and Bhojpuri, making it a multilingual production. The digital rights of the film have been acquired by Yuna Digital.
