Kathmandu — Veteran actor Sunil Thapa has passed away. He was 68. According to hospital sources, Thapa died this morning while undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital, Thapathali. He was taken to the hospital after suddenly developing health complications earlier in the morning.
Hospital sources said his death was confirmed at 7:44 am after an ECG examination.
“He was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state. A cardiac arrest is suspected. An ECG was performed immediately after he arrived, and his death was confirmed during the ECG,” a hospital source said.
Thapa’s family members are currently on their way to Kathmandu from Mumbai. The schedule for his final rites will be decided only after the family arrives.
As his relatives have not yet reached the hospital, an official announcement has not been made. Hospital sources said a formal confirmation will be issued after the family arrives.
