Kathmandu — Comedian Sundar Khanal, who rose to prominence through the popular show Comedy Darbar, is set to launch his own independent comedy program titled Comedy Baaj. A teaser of the show has been released, offering a brief glimpse into its concept.
The teaser places strong emphasis on action elements, giving the show a distinctive tone. However, the detailed format of the program has not been fully disclosed yet. According to sources, Comedy Baaj is expected to follow a roasting-style format, where guests from various fields will be invited and featured in comedic segments.
Speaking about the show, Khanal said that its core concept is based on a “battle” format. “For now, that’s all we can say—viewers will get the full experience in the episodes themselves,” he added.
The show will be broadcast via Email Television and Sundar Khanal’s official YouTube channel. The teaser also formally introduces the hosts, Sundar Khanal and Aarti Thapa.
In addition, the lineup includes several well-known comedians such as Pawan Khatriwada (Makuri), Bishwas Timalsina (BT Kancha), Saroj Bhandari, Sita Neupane, Sushant Basyal, Ashish Neupane, and Nischal Aryal.
Comedy Baaj is scheduled to begin airing from the second week of Baisakh. Most of the featured comedians are also associated with Comedy Darbar, and they have clarified that they will continue appearing in both shows.
