Pooja Sharma Joins Star Cast of Upcoming Film ‘Maharajadhiraj’

Kathmandu: Actress Pooja Sharma has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Nepali film Maharajadhiraj. The production team confirmed her signing for a lead role, following the earlier announcement of actress Keki Adhikari’s involvement. Actor Hemant Budhathoki has also recently been added to the lineup.

Earlier, actor Pushpa Khadka was introduced as the male lead, with the makers unveiling the film’s first poster during the Nepali New Year. As casting nears completion, the project’s star-studded lineup continues to grow stronger.

Directed by Parichhed Sen, Maharajadhiraj is described as a period drama and is expected to begin filming after the second week of Baisakh. The cast also includes Neer Shah, Aryan Sigdel, Ramesh Upreti, Usha Rajak, Hiunbala Gautam, Jaykishan Basnet, Shishir Bhandari, Gajit Bista, and Asha Poudel, among others.

The film, said to be Sen’s dream project, will feature around 80 actors from both veteran and new generations. Filming will begin at Sri Lanka Tapu in Sunsari before moving to historic and scenic locations in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Kirtipur.

Produced under the banner of Chatreshwor Management Pvt. Ltd., the film is written by director Sen himself. Producers of the movie are Ravi Khadka, Shivaraj Poudel, and Topendra Bista. Maharajadhiraj is slated for release nationwide during the Phulpati festival this Dashain.
