Kathmandu: Samir Balami has been re-elected as the president of the Film Journalists Association of Nepal. He secured a second consecutive term after the results of the 27th Annual General Meeting and 10th National Convention held in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Balami defeated his rival Jeevan Kumar Parajuli, securing the highest 95 votes.
In other positions, Raghunath Sapkota was elected vice president with 73 votes, while Kumar Acharya was elected unopposed as program vice president. Deepajyoti Thapa was elected women’s vice president with 75 votes, marking her second tenure in the same position.

Gopikrishna Chapagain was elected general secretary with 54 votes in a four-candidate race. Madan Rijal won the open secretary post with 94 votes, while Mohammad Jalim was elected unopposed as inclusive secretary.
Manish Anjan (Dahal) was elected treasurer with 74 votes, and Arjun Gurung was elected co-treasurer with 62 votes.
Meanwhile, eight members were elected unopposed. The association’s statute also allows for the nomination of two additional members, with one expected to be appointed soon.
