Kathmandu: The trailer of the upcoming Nepali film Ek Mutthi Badal has been officially released ahead of its theatrical premiere on May 15 (Jestha 1). The newly unveiled trailer offers a glimpse into the emotional core of the story, highlighting how an unexpected incident threatens to shake an entire family.
The film explores themes of belonging, the pain of leaving home, and the search for one’s place in a rapidly changing world.
According to the production team, the story unfolds as a wedding approaches and the whole family gathers under one roof — father, mother, sisters, and aunt — carrying years of love, silence, and expectations. However, an unforeseen event creates turmoil within the family, forcing each member to confront their emotions and relationships.
The film stars Aanchal Sharma, Nisha Sharma, Usha Rajak, Bhima Mainali, Asmita Gautam, Shekhar Chapagain, Manish Niroula, Sahayog Adhikari, Gaurav Bista, and Aviral Pratap Adhikari, among others.
Written and directed by Sahara Sharma, the film’s chief producer is Abhimanyu Dixit. Other producers include Sara Fazilat, Samipyaraj Timilsena, and Anup Poudel, while Nikun Shrestha serves as executive producer.
The technical team includes Linh Dan Nguyen Phan as cinematographer, Yashaswi Sabharwal as production designer, Gaurav Kumar Mallik as editor, Deepa Bhatia as editing consultant, Janaki Kadayat as costume designer, Kirti Joshi as makeup artist, Agrani Thakuri Jha as art director, and Ashma Gautam as post-production supervisor.
Co-produced by Gaunthali Entertainment, Man Production, Third Culture Kids, and Chromosome Films, Ek Mutthi Badal will be released across Nepal from May 15, with RR Films handling distribution.
