Kathmandu: Singer Kushal Pokhrel has recorded a song for the upcoming Nepali film Bob Dai, which is currently in post-production. The music video shoot for the song has been completed, with filming taking place on Monday and Tuesday in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur.
The video, which is expected to be released soon, features most of the film’s cast. However, scenes involving lead actor Saugat Malla are yet to be filmed and will be completed in the coming days.
The song’s lyrics have been written by Kushal himself, while the music is composed by Besh Churchil Bhusal. Mixing and mastering have been handled by K-Pass. Kushal is the singer behind the popular song Paisa, which gained major attention about one and a half years ago.
Besides singing, Kushal has also acted in Bob Dai, making it his debut film as an actor, although he has previously sung for other movies.
Presented by Roteping Entertainment in collaboration with Shriram Balaji Films, Bob Dai is a comedy film starring Saugat Malla and Simran Pant in lead roles. Saugat plays the title character “Bob Dai.” According to director Prabin Shrestha, the title comes from the Newar pronunciation of “Dai” as “Daae.”
The film also features Santosh Panta, Bishal Pahadi, Pramod Agrahari, Kameshwar Chaurasiya, Yaman Shrestha, Krishna Bhakta Maharjan, Gita Adhikari, Bhintuna Joshi, and child actor Agrim Pandit.
The story is written by Mainisha Gauchan and Prabin Shrestha, who is also editing the film. Cinematography has been handled by Shyam Tamang and team.
The film is produced by Rajesh Ghimire, Roshan Bhattarai, and Sunil Manandhar, while Rabindra Prajapati serves as executive producer. The makers have confirmed the film will release in 2083 B.S., with the official date to be announced soon.
