Kathmandu: The upcoming Nepali film Mitjyu, produced under the banner of GM Movies Production, has sold its international screening rights in six countries — Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malta, Singapore, and Poland.
The production team announced on Tuesday that the film’s overseas rights have already been secured in these markets. According to producer Janak Gharti Magar, Pathibhara Entertainment acquired the rights for Hong Kong, Wow Entertainment for Japan, Nepal Magar Association for South Korea, Nep Five Entertainment for Malta, and Solti Event for Poland. Discussions are also ongoing for other countries.
Excitement around the film has been growing as its release date approaches. Mitjyu stars Saugat Malla, Dayahang Rai, and internationally renowned dancer Teria Fauja Magar. The film has attracted major attention as it marks Teria’s acting debut.
Songs released from the film have also received a positive response, with Gairaghare Kaili and Bhunbhun Mahuri becoming popular among audiences.
Set in a rural backdrop, the film also features Pushkar Gurung, Shishir Wangdel, Raj Thapa, Subarna Thapa, Anu Thapa, Smita Lamichhane, Arun Pun Magar, Uttamraj Pandey, Sabin Kattel, Umesh Sonam, Pavitra Khadka, Chahana Rana Magar, Anusha Rai, and Khadga Bahadur Pun Magar.
The film is directed by Anil Budha Magar and produced by Janak Gharti Magar. It features editing by Lokesh Bajracharya, cinematography by Shishir Bishankhe, and music by Shree Krishna Bam Malla. Vocals have been provided by Shree Krishna Bam Malla, Melina Rai, and Laxmi Malla.
Distributed by RR Films, the movie’s digital rights have been acquired by OSR. Mitjyu is set for nationwide release in Nepal from Jestha 8.
