Kathmandu: The first official poster of the upcoming Nepali film Ba: Ek Yoddha has been unveiled, revealing the mystery behind the film’s titular character. The poster confirms that actor Divya Dev plays the role of the resilient father, “Ba.”
The poster features Divya Dev in a tense and emotional look alongside Suhana Thapa, who portrays his daughter. It also hints that Jharana Thapa plays Divya Dev’s wife and Suhana’s mother. Elements such as a worn family photograph on a cracked wall, a land ownership certificate, an airplane in the sky, and a modest middle-class setting suggest a story centered on a father’s sacrifices, struggles, and the challenges of securing a better future for his children, including themes of foreign employment or overseas education.
Scheduled for release on Bhadra 19, Ba: Ek Yoddha explores the sacrifices, hardships, and lifelong dedication of fathers in Nepali society.
The film stars Divya Dev, Jharana Thapa, Suhana Thapa, Sagar Khanal, Shishir Siwakoti, Supragya Sharma, Shavi Thapa, and Anil Budhathoki.
Written and directed by Hari Lamsal, the film is produced under the banner of Artistic Entertainment. Lamsal has also penned the story and screenplay, while Basant Lamsal serves as the producer. The film is cinematographed by Shivaram Shrestha, with Taranath Neupane as the chief assistant director. It will be distributed by Kuber Cine Distribution, represented by Ashish H. Tamang and Pradeep Dhami.
