Kathmandu: A biographical film titled ‘Madan Krishna’, based on the life of veteran Nepali actor and comedian Madan Krishna Shrestha, has been officially announced. The film was unveiled at a formal event held in Kathmandu on Monday (Asar 8, 2083 B.S.).
The film will be directed by Milan Chams, known for his work in biographical and real-life inspired cinema. Actor Mahesh Tripathi will portray the role of Madan Krishna Shrestha, while actress Keki Adhikari will play the character of his wife, Yashoda.
The production team has also confirmed the involvement of several well-known Nepali artists including Hari Bansha Acharya, Deshbhakta Khanal, Kiran KC, Rajaram Paudel, and Yaman Shrestha, among others.
Produced by Rajkumar Shrestha, the screenplay and story are written by Yam Thapa. The shooting of the film is scheduled to begin from Bhadra (August–September).
The technical team includes Babu Shrestha as DOP, Milan Shrestha as editor, Alish Karki for background score, Bharat Kandel for sound design, and OSR Digital as the official digital partner.
Since the film is based on the life journey of one of Nepal’s most influential figures in the entertainment industry, it has already generated strong interest among audiences. With director Milan Chams’ experience in biopics, expectations for ‘Madan Krishna’ are high within the Nepali film industry.
