Kathmandu – The makers of the upcoming Nepali comedy film ‘Kakakiki’ have released its first teaser, officially kicking off the film’s promotional campaign ahead of its release on September 4 (Bhadra 19).
Presented by Maya Entertainment and produced by the team behind the popular comedy show Comedy Darbar, the nearly three-minute teaser introduces a group of characters determined to bring change to their village, Kulebari. Veteran actresses Gauri Malla, Tripti Nadakar, and Rekha Thapa, along with actor Mahesh Tripathi, are seen discussing plans to improve their community.
The teaser blends humor with social themes through witty dialogue. In one scene, Rekha Thapa asks, “What if something happens to us while doing this for the village?” Gauri Malla jokingly replies, “At least those rascals will build us a statue.” Tripti Nadakar counters with another humorous line, “Who will build a statue? We’re the masons ourselves.”
Speaking at the teaser launch, co-directors Bicky Agrawal and Shraddha Prasai said they have made the film with sincerity and are now leaving its fate to the audience. “We’re not claiming we’ve made a great film—we’ve simply tried to make a good one. The rest is up to the viewers,” said Agrawal. Prasai added that the strong support from the cast and crew has given her confidence in the film.
The event was attended by cast members including Gauri Malla, Tripti Nadakar, Rekha Thapa, Diya Maske, Mahesh Tripathi, Prakash Ghimire, Shishir Wangdel, Subash Gajurel, Rare Rai, Khadga Bahadur Pun Magar (Khabapu), and Pawan Khatiwada (Makuri), who shared their experiences working on the project.
