Kathmandu: ‘Content creator’ Ishtu Karki is often in the spotlight on social media. Her TikTok videos, blogs, and photos frequently gather attention on timelines. In the second week of November, she created an interesting blog promoting tourism in Maipokhari. In a sleeveless outfit, she described the beauty of Maipokhari and suggested it as an ideal place to visit.
A photo of her in a sleeveless outfit at Maipokhari went viral within a few hours. This photo garnered both criticism and praise. Some criticized it as obscene, while others appreciated her work. She also became the target of trolling. The social media discussion around the video and photo from Maipokhari has not yet died down.
In this context, on Monday, she shared new photos in which she symbolically attempted to counter the criticism regarding her previous Maipokhari photos. The new photos she posted are also from Ilam. With a green tea garden in the background, the pictures she clicked are quite attractive.
In this photo, she is seen in a sleeveless outfit again. The black dress she is wearing has the words “My Body, Not Yours” written on it. Through these words, Ishtu seems to be responding symbolically to the previous criticism and insults.
