The winners selected from ‘World of Dance Nepal’

Kathmandu:The Nepal franchise of the world-famous American franchise World of Dance has been completed. The winners of World of Dance Nepal were selected at the grand finale held on Thursday. Winners were chosen from three divisions among the 33 groups competing for the title.

In the Upper Team category, The Brave Gorkha from Butwal emerged as the winner. In this category, Group Overdose from Kathmandu was the first runner-up, and Y-Stand Crew from Lalitpur was the second runner-up. In the Junior Team category, Nepal Dance Academy from Kathmandu secured first place, Hand to Hand Crew from Morang took second, and Creator Crew from Lalitpur came in third.

World of Dance

In the Upper Division category, Bablu & Rohit from Kailali secured the first position, Swastik Aryal from Kathmandu took the second place, and SNS Queens from Jhapa won third place. The winners will represent the country at the global competition held in the United States in July.

The event was organized to introduce local dancers to the world and highlight Nepali art and culture, as stated by the national director of the show, Roshan Ghatray. Contemporary dancers JD Tamang, Nishant Gauchan from Everest Crew, and popper Mukesh Dhakal served as judges. Tamang, who is also the artistic director of the show, mentioned that the competition marked a new beginning to revitalize the slowly progressing Nepali dance scene.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sunita Dangol, who was the chief guest and presented the awards to the winners. The event, organized by Mandala Entertainment, also saw the presence of winners from India’s popular dance reality shows Dance India Dance, Little Master, and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, such as Teria Magar, as well as the host of Voice of Nepal, Sushil Nepal.
