Kathmandu — Music lovers across Nepal are commemorating the 35th Memorial Day of Swor Samrat Narayan Gopal Guruwacharya today. Renowned for his soulful voice, emotional depth, and artistic originality, he remains one of the most beloved and respected figures in modern Nepali music.

Narayan Gopal’s timeless songs—“Lau Sun Ma Bhandchu,” “Mero Ramkahani,” “Parkhi Basen Aunla Bhani,” “Timro Jasto Muttuko Mero pani,” “Ae Kancha Thattai Ma,” “Swargaki Rani,” “Bichhodko Pida,” “Jaag, Lamk, Chamk,” “Galti Hajar Hunchan,” “Aljhech Kyaare Pachyauri” and many more continue to resonate with listeners of all generations. His music beautifully captures themes of love, longing, philosophy, cultural emotion, and social reflection.

In honor of his unmatched vocal mastery, musical brilliance, and expressive artistry, Narayan Gopal was bestowed the title Swor Samrat (Emperor of Voice). Following his passing, the Narayan Gopal Music Foundation—established at his residence in Maharajgunj has been organizing special programs today to pay tribute to him.
