Arpan Thapa to Direct New Film ‘French Kiss’

Kathmandu – Versatile Nepali actor Arpan Thapa has officially announced his new project, ‘French Kiss’, taking the director’s chair for the film. The movie, produced under A.T.F. Production Pvt. Ltd., held its ceremonial inauguration on Friday at Ganesh Temple, Kamaladi, Kathmandu, coinciding with Saraswati Puja (Vasant Panchami).

Known for bringing unique styles and perspectives to Nepali cinema, Arpan Thapa will not only direct the film but also play the lead role.

Filming is set to begin on Monday at various locations in Chitwan. Alongside Thapa, internationally acclaimed actress Thinley Lhamo will play the female lead. Thinley has previously won the prestigious Boccalino d’Oro Award for Best Performance at the 77th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

The film will also feature Gauri Malla and Ayesha Tamang in prominent roles. The executive producer is Sougat Basnet, with Subash B. Shahi serving as co-producer. Veteran cinematographer Sudip Baral will handle the cinematography, while celebrated singer-composer Deepak Bajracharya will provide the music.

With Arpan Thapa at the helm, both as director and actor, ‘French Kiss’ promises to offer Nepali audiences a fresh cinematic experience. The film is expected to be released within 2026.
