Kathmandu: The third directorial film by Krisha Chaulagain, Paras, is set to go on floors from June 29 (Asar 15). The production team has finalized the shooting schedule and conducted a face test for the cast on Thursday. The look test was held at Balaju Lab, where artists were assessed according to their respective characters.
Known for her strong image as an action director, Chaulagain said that most of the film’s pre-production work has already been completed, allowing the team to move ahead with filming. According to her, principal photography will begin on June 29 in and around Kathmandu. The cast’s look test was conducted as part of the final preparations for the shoot.
Being produced under the banner of KP Films, Paras has already signed actors Nikhil Upreti, Ramesh Upreti, Niruta Singh, Sushil Shrestha, Jasita Gurung, and Pushkar Gurung. The selection process for additional cast members is still underway.
The film’s screenplay has been written by Indian writer Sachin Ladiya. Acclaimed cinematographer Purushottam Pradhan will serve as the Director of Photography (DOP), while Man Krishna Maharjan and Shekhar Bahadur Tamang will be part of the camera team.
A few weeks ago, the film recorded its first song, featuring vocals by Sajja Chaulagain, winner of Nepal Idol Season 3. The song carries lyrics and music by Koshish Chhetri.
Rabin Bakhel has been appointed as the production manager, while the action sequences will be directed by Shukraraj Shah. Satyam Rana and Sameer Miya will handle the film’s VFX work. Saroj Budhathoki has been assigned as the makeup artist, and Kuldeep Sharma will serve as the chief assistant director.
Similarly, renowned choreographer Kabiraj Gahatraj will oversee the dance sequences. Renish Phago has been appointed as the colorist, while Rakesh Dahal will handle publicity and poster design. Kalacharan will compose the background score (BGM), and Geeta Guraya will be responsible for audio mixing.
