Kathmandu: The second trailer of the upcoming Nepali movie Paanch Pandav has been released. The production team unveiled the trailer at an event held in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
The newly released trailer puts actor Haribansha Acharya at the centre of the story, offering a glimpse into the characters and the film’s central theme.
Acharya plays Yudhishthir, who arrives in the human world after learning that his brothers are suffering. He then takes it upon himself to help people facing various problems, naming four individuals as his brothers—Bhim, Arjun and Sahadev among them.
The trailer shows him standing against injustice, violence and social distortions while helping those in need. In one scene, he is seen covering a young woman with a piece of cloth after noticing her in revealing clothes at a casino, reflecting his vision of building a civilized society.
The trailer suggests that the film revolves around the collective struggle and rebellion of five brothers against injustice, violence and oppression. The campaign for a better and more civilized society appears to be the central message of the movie.
Directed by Basanta Niraula, Paanch Pandav is scheduled to release in theatres on Kartik 20.
The movie features Haribansha Acharya, Mahesh Tripathi, Jitu Nepal, Binod Neupane, Aryan Sigdel, Sushil Sitaula, Iva Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula in prominent roles. Other cast members include Sarita Giri, Rama Thapaliya, Prashant Tamrakar, Sita Neupane and Ritesh Paudel (Ritesh Jung Khatri).

Produced under the banner of Kali Rani Films, the movie is presented by Nabin Shrestha, who previously produced Laj Sharanam last year. Kali Rani Shrestha is the producer.
Written by Sushil Paudel, who has handled the story, screenplay and dialogues, Paanch Pandav is described as a social drama. According to the writer, the film uses the characters and symbolism of the five Pandavas from the Mahabharata to tell a story about contemporary Nepali society.
The cinematography is handled by Shyam Tamang, with editing by Suprim Parajuli. Samrat Basnet is the action director, while Gambhir Bista and Bikram Swar have handled choreography.
The film will feature Dolby Atmos sound. Its technical team includes music composer Arjun Pokharel, sound designer Uttam Neupane, BGM composer Sujil Karmacharya, VFX artist Pukar Dhimal, HOP Rohit Raj Gautam and production manager Bishnu Budhathoki.
OSR Digital is the film’s digital partner, while RR Films, led by Rohit Kattel and Ratna Shrestha, will handle nationwide distribution.
