Bijay Baral’s Struggle and Success

...

Kathmandu — With dreams of becoming an actor, Bijay Baral came to Kathmandu from Sarlahi in 2064 B.S. after completing his +2 studies. For two years, he worked at a tuition center. Though the job helped him get by, it didn’t allow him to pursue the dreams he had envisioned. So, he quit and started going to Gurukul to watch plays, hoping to move closer to his aspirations. This exposure deepened his interest in acting, and after completing a 45-day acting course, he became associated with Mandala Theatre. There, he spent many nights hungry and sleepless, struggling to fulfill his dream.

Despite acting in dozens of plays and films, he remained unnoticed by the audience. Still, he didn’t give up and continued to work with determination—eventually reaching where he is today. He says, “Even to dream, you need preparation. So, work hard. Dreams do come true.” The year 2081 B.S. has been a breakthrough year for Bijay Baral. Having mostly worked in supporting roles, he finally got the chance to play the lead in Purna Bahadurko Sarangi. The film became a blockbuster, grossing crores at the box office.

When he finally got a solo lead role, he outshone many of the established stars in the Nepali film industry. He delivered what is now considered one of the all-time blockbuster films in Nepali cinema. The records his film set have yet to be broken by any other hero in the industry. With so many records under his belt, Vijay is now extremely busy. He’s currently working as the lead in multiple films, and more of his lead-role projects are set to release in the coming days.
