Kathmandu — The new Nepali film “Chirag,” which is set for a nationwide release on Mangsir 5 (November/December), has released its song “Phool Bani Phulthẽ” (I Would Bloom Like a Flower). The song, released through the Highlights Nepal YouTube channel, features vocals by Deepak Limbu and Asmita Adhikari. The lyrics and music are by the film’s writer and director, Tyagmurti himself.

The love themed song’s video has been entirely produced using VFX. It features Tyagmurti and Sankala Gautam. Earlier, a poster of Chirag was unveiled showing Tyagmurti in a different avatar, portraying a third-gender character. However, in the newly released song, he appears in a male role.

Tyagmurti is also the lead actor of the film. He has stated that Chirag presents one of the most unique stories ever seen in Nepali cinema. During a press meet organized at Kimchi Restaurant in Anamnagar, Kathmandu, on Sunday, he shared that Chirag portrays third-gender individuals in a new and respectful way, unlike most Nepali films that often assign them minor or negative roles. “If you watch Chirag, you’ll see something truly different,” he said.

The film carries the tagline “The Lamp of Hope Never Dies.” Alongside Tyagmurti, the cast includes Sushil Pokhrel, Pragya Joshi, Subhash Gajurel, Damodar Bhandari, Sher Bahadur DC, Sankala Gautam, Naresh Prasad Bhatt, Manoj Acharya, Madhava Khanal, Minakshi Khanal, and child actor Sagar Kharel, among others. The co-writers are Naresh Prasad Bhatt and Sankala Gautam, while the producers are Sankala Gautam, Naresh Prasad Bhatt, and Tyagmurti. The film is produced under the Harinand Banner.

The song features background music by Loknath Sapkota and mixing by Ashish Sunuwar. The film’s cinematography is by Rahul Rai and Mefuz Ansari, editing by Subash Devkota, color grading by Kalpesh Bishwakarma, and VFX by Dinesh Dhakal. The film’s makeup direction is handled by DK Hamal.
