Kathmandu- The much-anticipated Nepali film “Eklo–1,” which has been in the spotlight for its unique approach and innovative presentation, has been released simultaneously across the country. The production team claims that the film offers an unforgettable experience through a balanced blend of action, drama, and emotional elements.
Produced with the aim of presenting Nepali cinema to the international market in a distinctive way, Eklo–1 is expected to bring freshness in its story, presentation, and technical aspects. With its unconventional narrative and strong production values, the filmmakers are confident that the movie will receive a positive response from Nepali audiences in the Middle East as well as in other international markets.
Written and directed by Pradeep Shahi, Eklo–1 had its historic premiere on December 28 at the world-renowned Museum of the Moving Image in New York, USA. Based on science fiction, the film marks the third directorial venture of Pradeep Shahi, who is actively involved in filmmaking while based in the United Kingdom. The film has been made with the goal of delivering Hollywood-level visuals, technology, and storytelling.
The film features performances by Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Benisha Hamal, Dinesh DC, Kabita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, Evan Raj Upreti, Trichu Rai, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Bikash Adhikari, Diggj Khattri, Binod Subedi “Kshitiz,” Shrishesh Shrestha, child artists Jemin Shrestha and Syon Savik Singh, among others. British actor Jamie Bacon also plays a significant role.
Produced with investment from the NRN Group, the film’s executive producer is Binod Subedi “Kshitiz.” Cinematography is by Babu Shrestha, action direction by Raju Tamang, set design by Raju Painter, art direction by Santosh Lama, and production design by Dron Prasad Poudel “Theuke.”
