Kathmandu: There was a raging fire almost ablaze during the schedule of Second Grand Salyan Festival. This was the location of a festival organized in Salyan under the National Lok Dohori Association. After the same festival ran for about 10 days, it suffered a huge loss as goods worth millions went up in flames. Of the 135 stalls built in the festival, 80 of them caught fire.
Sources from the National Lok Dohori Association, Salyan, said the fire broke on a ninth night of the festival opening on 18th Magh (January 31). The fire broke out at around 11 PM. An estimated damage caused by fire is more than 8 crore rupees.
Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police and local people managed to extinguish the fire that same night, informed Kesher Nyaupane, Salyan District Police Chief. The cause of the fire is being investigated by police.
