
Chaitra, Kathmandu – Singer Kabita Khatri, who lent her voice to the song “Namaste Dhogdiya” released on YouTube three months ago, has won the award for Best LOk Singer. She received the award during the 15th Bindabasini Music Awards 2081, held in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The award was presented to singer Kabita by veteran singer, composer, and film director Narayan Rayamajhi, along with other guests. Upon receiving the award, Kabita expressed her happiness. She said she was delighted that the Bindabasini Awards had recognized her, especially considering the love and support her song had received from audiences and listeners in such a short time since its release.
Alongside her, other nominees included Sima Nepali for “Muna Madan”, Sita Pariyar for “Dhalkyo Lakuri”, Shanti Shree Pariyar for “Basyau Alakkai”, and Devi Gharti for “Maya Aaune Bas”. Ultimately, Kabita won the award for “Namaste Dhogdiya.”
