Kathmandu – Saroj Magar, popularly known by his musical stage name Sarbanash, has released a new rap song titled “Ke Bhako” (What’s the Matter). The song was officially launched along with its music video at a press conference held on Tuesday evening at Raja Lounge in Bishwojyoti Mall, Jamal. The video was released through his own YouTube channel Sarbanash Music. In the song, Sarbanash is accompanied by rapper D-Chain in both vocals and rap segments.
While unveiling the song, Sarbanash shared that he has put equal effort into both the audio and video aspects of the production. He stated, “This is a rap song expressing our feelings and struggles. We try to convey our emotions and life experiences through such rap songs. Listeners can understand and connect with us through our music because this isn’t just a song—it’s our emotion.” He further added that the video was made in alignment with the theme of the song. The music video was edited and directed by Juman and created entirely by his team. Featuring in the video are Muna Yonjan and Kanchan Shrestha. The video was produced under Tracks Production.
Senior rapper Hakim Gurung congratulated the entire team after watching the video. He commented that rap in Nepal is undergoing refinement and improvement. “The younger generation is not only passionate about rap but is also commercializing it. I believe this will positively shape the future of rap in Nepal. Rap is a medium for us rappers to express our pain, emotions, and the realities of society,” Hakim said.
The event was attended by former vice president of the Film Journalists Association, Kuber Dangol, as well as film producer and actor Kiran Nepali, among others.
Producer Nepali mentioned that he had planned to make a movie centered on the life of a rapper, although it couldn’t be completed due to various reasons. However, he expressed hope that the film could still be made in the future with some revisions. “I’ve listened to rap and felt its words. That’s why I prepared to make a film, with VTEN cast in a lead role. Although it couldn’t be realized back then, I believe I can revisit the concept and eventually produce the film,” said Nepali.
Sarbanash has previously released several rap songs, including “Aau Bas”, “Kanchi Nani”, “Jadupan”, “Jindagiko Yatra”, “Haami Allare Thito”, “Samaya”, and “Sarbanashko Suruwat”.
